Sovereign Bank Arena Participates in National Disability Mentoring Day
National Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is designed to bring students and job seekers with disabilities into the workplace where they can learn about various career opportunities. Through DMD, students or job seekers are paired with a career professional to learn what it means to work in that field or occupation –observe a typical workday, identify necessary skills, and learn about possible internships or employment prospects.
On Tuesday, October 20th, Sovereign Bank Arena will participate in National Disability Mentoring Day and host a group of local kids in this opportunity to underscore the connection between school and work. |

COUNTY EXECUTIVE AND WWE SUPERSTARS HELP RENAME HAMILTON AVE IN HONOR OF SOVEREIGN BANK ARENA'S 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
In honor of Sovereign Bank Arena’s 10 year anniversary, County Executive Brian M. Hughes along with WWE Superstar John Morrison and WWE Divas the Bellas will help rename Hamilton Ave to Tenth Anniversary Ave on Tuesday, October 6 at 10am.
WWE was the first event held at Sovereign Bank Arena and returns ten years later to celebrate the arena’s ten year anniversary with SmackDown & ECW!
WWE Superstar John Morrison along with WWE Divas Brie and Nikki Bella will participate in the street renaming. Local children will be in attendance to watch the ceremony. The street will be renamed Tenth Anniversary Avenue for the entire year to celebrate the ten year anniversary.

SOVEREIGN BANK ARENA RELEASES UNUSUAL NUMBERS AND EXCITING PROMOTIONS TO COMMEMORATE 10TH ANNIVERSARY
TRENTON, NJ (October 5, 2009) ¬– On October 6, 2009, Sovereign Bank Arena will be celebrating its 10 Year Anniversary. The Arena opened on October 6, 1999 and has been host to some of the most exciting entertainment and sporting events in Mercer County. In honor of the anniversary celebration, Sovereign Bank Arena is sharing 10 unique numbers and statistics from the past 10 years.
During the first 10 years at Sovereign Bank Arena:
1. 82,979: Gallons of soda consumed
2. 107,664: Boxes of popcorn sold
3. 270,243: Number of hot dogs consumed
4. 28,7262: Number of pretzels consumed
5. 1,222,416: Number of individual chicken fingers consumed
6. 110,000: Gallons of water used to make ice
7. 350,000: Dollars worth of cleaning products used
8. 9,516: Number of people in the building for Elton John on April 19, 2000 - the largest single-event crowd at the arena
9. 43,046: Number of people in the building for Disney on Ice “100 Years of Magic” from January 31 - February 4, 2007 - the highest grossing family show at the arena
10. 1,454: Number of events held in the building since it’s opening

Throughout the past 10 years, Sovereign Bank Arena has received numerous top rankings as one of the best arenas in its size from Pollstar Magazine, Billboard Magazine, and Venues Today.

To continue the 10th anniversary celebration, Sovereign Bank Arena is offering 10 themed discounts to some of their upcoming shows. These special ticket offers will be available on October 10, from 10:00am to 10:00pm. The following discounts will be available: Lipizzaner Stallions on November 15, 2009 will offer 10% off $26.50 and $22.50 tickets, Disney Live! Rockin’ Road Show on November 27, 2009 will offer $10 upper level tickets, the Broadway in Trenton theater series, featuring Rain: the Beatles Experience on November 19, 2009, Hairspray on January 12, 2010 and Jesus Christ Superstar on March 9, 2010, will offer 10% off all subscriptions, and Monster Trucks 2010 Winter Nationals on January 8, 2010 will offer $10 adult upper level tickets. As a kick-off to the 10th Anniversary Celebration, Sovereign Bank Arena will rename Hamilton Avenue to Tenth Anniversary Avenue, which will remain changed for the entire year. The street renaming will occur at 10:00am on Tuesday morning. County Executive Brian Hughes, along with WWE Superstars John Morrison and the Bella sisters will be in attendance to help unveil the new street sign. |

10,000 GALLONS OF WATER BEING USED TO MAKE NEW ICE FOR UPCOMING SEASON!
In preparation for the upcoming 2009-2010 Trenton Devils hockey season, the Sovereign Bank Arena will install and paint their new ice, which is made in 24-hour shifts. The line and logos on the ice will also be painted throughout the day.
Tickets for the upcoming Trenton Devils hockey season are on sale now!
