New York mayoral candidate Eric Adams invited the press to a residence in Bed-Stuy on Wednesday to try to prove the Brooklyn apartment was his, after a Politics article suggested he could reside part-time in Fort Lee, New Jersey, The New York Times reported. But the attempt to clarify the discrepancies highlighted by Politics has, probably to Adams’ chagrin, become an all-out amateur investigation into the whereabouts of the former police captain… and his kitchen appliances.
For starters, Twitter sleuths highlighted the shocking differences between the photos of Adam’s refrigerator from Wednesday and 2017. Adams is an avid vegan, but his refrigerator in this “current residence” contains salmon and other produce. of animal origin (which he attributed to his son, Jordan). The device models themselves also look different, although the photos are said to be from the same Bed-Stuy apartment.
A photo of Adams standing in the basement bedroom, he said, was his Twitter whipped into another frenzy, as users quickly spotted a collection of sneakers that appeared to belong to his son.
In addition to looking for a simple moment of “embarrassment”, Politics notes that if Adams truly lives across the Hudson, he may not meet New York Politburo residency requirements or pay rental income taxes.
Does Adams live part time in New Jersey? Do the apartments that the journalists visited really belong to her son? Did he buy a new refrigerator, and if so, when? As the campaign manager of New York City mayoral candidate Maya Wiley said, “WTF?!?! “
